Summary: Staying in Munnar is expensive, even for 2 nights. I decided to stay in a hotel which is approx 10km from the city. This did mean I needed to be transported everywhere if not exploring the immediate area. I wanted to see Munnar and all it had to offer in 2 nights. Fortunately I did find a tour which would cover this and provided a collection and drop service. Though, due to the distance you must acknowledge it'll be approx 500 INR each way. If you book a taxi its usually for set distance and could be 4000 INR per 100km. Something to bear in mind. The hotel is well maintained on the outside, nice plant life around. Has a drive and space for multiple cars. The breakfast is very good and varied. They provide purified filtered water! I would recommend walking down the road for restaurants than get in vehicle; particularly Underground restaurant/bar, fantastic treetop view. Oh and pack a waterproof! Bijil and staff were helpful when needed. He assisted me in securing the tour. Thanks!
