Positive: The room was beautiful and extremely clean and comfortable. The bathroom is lovely and very spacious. The beach and the pools are gorgeous and very well maintained and clean. The spa is really nice and we enjoyed the hammam package. Moustafa at the front desk was absolutely lovely. He could not have been more polite and helpful. He was very accommodating making sure to arrange breakfast boxes for us for an early departure and very facilitating in allowing an early check in. He gave us a very thorough tour of the facilities and was extremely helpful with any questions or requests. We received excellent customer service from him and were very impressed with his professionalism.

Negative: The food was quite mediocre, and for the amount of money we were spending I feel like it could have been better. We had just spent a week on a dive liveaboard on the Red Sea for a fraction of the nightly cost, and the food on the boat was ten times better. There was extremely loud live music and a DJ set playing directly across from our room until 11:00pm. We had an early start the following morning leaving for Luxor and this made it absolutely impossible to sleep. To be fair, the music ended promptly at 11pm and we got a good nights sleep after. As we only stayed one night, I can’t be sure of this only happens on weekends or is a nightly occurrence. If the former, not a big deal on a longer stay, but I would want to ask for a room in a quieter location if staying again. We did find it slightly irritating that you were constantly approached by people trying sell tours, snorkeling etc. and also when booking our spa treatments and leaving the spa the beauty salon was a little pushy also. To be fair, most people left you alone once you said no, but it take away from the relaxation a bit. We also didn’t like that the spa staff directly asked for a tip. We were always intending on tipping, but to be directly asked for money cheapens the service and feels unprofessional. Finally, we had a poor interaction with Ahmed at check out. We were rushing to leave as our tour guide was waiting for us at 5am. He started insisting we needed to do a Booking.com review prior to leaving. Firstly, I don’t like being forced to do a review before leaving the hotel. Secondly, when we told him we were in a rush he was quite rude and when he started insisting and we got more firm with him he told us “to be respectful” and that “he was speaking and we needed to stop and listen”. He then changed his tune and said they actually needed to check the room before we left; I told him that was absolutely no problem, but that’s not what he had told us two minutes before.

Summary: Beautiful hotel, lovely facilities and rooms. Food and some of staff’s customer service could be better.
