Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The location, walking distance to everywhere. The views The coffee sandwich shop across the road next to the tennis court was fantastic!! And so was the Italian restaurant “Casa de Vino”

Negative: *We had problems trying to work the gas stove. It just wouldn’t start, Not sure if I had to bring my owe matches? At the end we gave up! Just had to eat out more than expected as that wasn’t in our budget! There were no instructions *The kitchen sink plug doesn’t fit properly. So you couldn’t fill the sink with water. *The shower in the bathtub was quite dangerous as the bathtub became quite slippery and there was nothing to hold onto! Which was a major concern!!.. *No fly screens in the bathroom and no curtains. * No fly screen in the kitchen or curtain (if I recall). *Yes we were aware of the very small bathroom sink so we ended up brushing our teeth in the kitchen sink. *The freezer needs serious defrosting. *Provide ice trays, to buy a bag of ice and carry it back to the place is crazy and then leaving it in the sink overnight, the ice freezes up and becomes a solid mass and unusable. *My wife thought the washing machine/clothes dryer was difficult to operate, there was no spin cycle it just went straight into drying cycle, causing possible clothes shrinkage. *The outdoor area opposite the laundry is completely embarrassing and looks very unsafe! We were told not to go outside, but at least place a caution sign? And curtains.. It was a complete embarrassment when our friends dropped in…. * Even though the stairs going up and down the property are narrow and steep, when they get wet from the rain they become quite slippery and dangerous! *We ended up buying our own toilet paper as what was left in the bathroom was cheap and thin. * The coffee, tea and sugar setup was very poor! Luckily we packed our own! Differently not contactless, all pre Covid days, you would think people would be more aware since Covid and the amount of guests staying there! Sachets maybe? * We also thought the toiletries, soap, shampoo, body wash etc setup was below average…. Very unhygienic *The Langholm staff smoking area besides the garbage bins.
